Could you tell me a little more about what to expect from your property?
Absolutely! In 2019/2020 we renovated a mid-century era property formerly owned and operated as Northwoods Lodging. The property is located along North Michigan Ave in the village of Beulah and features nine ground level units in the front, and eight additional units in the back including kitchenette and family suites, both ground and second floor. All units are exterior entrance and fully renovated with a modern beach cottage vibe. The property is situated overlooking a protected nature preserve, which offers a beautiful pond view in the back. We also offer a seasonally open outdoor pool, fire pit area, grill and daily continental breakfast in the lobby.
Can I check in early?
We understand that you want to get into vacation mode as soon as possible! During high season, (Memorial Day through the end of September) early check-in is not generally able to be offered, as our properties are typically full or close to full most days of the week, and check out is at 11 a.m. Our staff performs a very thorough cleaning on all units, and needs sufficient time in between guests to do so on all rooms. Sometimes your room will be ready an hour or two before check-in and one of our managers will contact you to let you know! During off-season we can be a lot more accommodating about early check-in.
Is there anything I can do as a guest to make my check-in experience go more smoothly?
Yes! Please be sure that the best number to reach you has been entered into your reservation. Some guests use an outdated phone number when using third-party booking sites, this can make it difficult for us to reach you with relevant information about your check-in process and other info about your stay!
Also, please be sure to arrive with the exact number of people in your party that you reserved with, and that you do not exceed the max occupancy of the room that you have booked. Unfortunately our insurance and the fire marshal require us to turn away a party that exceeds the max occupancy of the booked unit!
Why did you charge me a deposit at time of booking?
Like other smaller hotels in northern Michigan, due to the seasonality of our business and our smaller number of rooms we collect a 50% deposit on all reservations. We do this in order to keep operations running smoothly throughout the year, and to ensure we don't have no-show bookings. No need to worry, all deposits will be fully refunded within the bounds of the cancellation policy.
Could you tell me a little more about the daily breakfast?
We offer complimentary continental breakfast in the lobby each morning between 7am and 10:30am, this includes muffins, pastries, toast, bagels and cream cheese, hot and cold cereal, yogurt, whole fruit, coffee, juice and milk.
Where can I find ice?
Due to COVID-related regulations, we are unable to offer self serve ice, but we have pre-bagged ice available. Just let us know at check in or before if you would like some!
How close is the lake?
Beulah Beach on Crystal lake is just a 2-3 minute drive away on the other side of Michigan Ave, and Lake Michigan is just 10 short minutes away in Frankfort! We do not have beach access on the property.
How close are you to some other area attractions?
(We recommend accessing the town and lake by car from the Inn, for easy walk-ability to restaurants and Beulah Beach we recommend our sister property, Coastal Suites Resort)

Tell me a little bit more about your pool and firepit area?
We offer a seasonally open unheated outdoor pool for guests (Memorial Day through Labor Day). This is a great place to cool off in between excursions! We do require all children under age 12 to be accompanied by an adult in the pool area. We also offer a poolside seating area where you can enjoy a cup of coffee in the morning or visit with your family. We also have an outdoor firepit with complimentary wood for guest use, thank you in advance or taking extra care to completely put out your fire when you're finished! We also have a grill on-site for guest use.

As you can imagine, the changes that have come with COVID have affected all of our lives in different ways, and presented unique challenges to everyone, including our hardworking staff.
